Our History
After a career spent working for several local steel fabricators, Monte Doing believed that he
could do it better. He would take his experiences; both the good and the bad, and use those lessons to build a company that would not only survive the limits of a small market economy but grows into a nationally recognized company.
Our first location was an old bakery building on College Street in Springfield, MO, starting with seven people and some stubborn determination. Doing Steel outgrew those humble beginnings within the first year, relocating to a 16,000 square-foot facility on 5 acres at 2125 North Golden Ave. This was only the beginning for Doing Steel and we have never looked back ...
We have completed projects from coast to coast, as well as jobs in Guam and off the coast of Singapore. However, we have not forgotten our roots and still serve our community.
The current leadership team has continued the idea of progression and continues to take steps to grow and improve every day. We are proud of our team, what we have accomplished, and the history we continue to build with you.
